Charlie’s initial consultation with a new client typically includes a detailed discussion to understand the function of the space, their style preferences, their favorite colors, etc.
After meeting a new client and getting an idea of what they’re looking for, where does your inspiration come from? I am usually inspired by the design problem they are asking me to fix. I want to help them find a solution and make that solution pretty and more functional.
What design element would you consider is your signature? I love symmetry and balance. I always say design is a fine balance of light, textures, volume, and colors, and I always incorporate my Feng Shui style in to my desgins!
What have you noticed a lot of your clients have been asking for this year? Well, if we’re talking trends right now, I would say, quartz counter tops, stacked stone, edison bulbs, bronze and antique gold metal finishes, grayish wood floors and cabinetry.
What’s one big thing you’ve learned about small business? There’s obviously a lot to know and learn about business. The most important thing I have learned is to not be afraid or ashamed to ask for help. There are plenty of other business owners who have started from the beginning and are always willing to give advice if you just ask.
What do you love most of all about running a small business? I seriously love it all. Even the tasks I’m not really into, once I realize I’m not good at it then I get to find someone awesome who can help me manage the task!
Below is a sample of what I do for my clients and how I make my clients understand my vision for their space.
